Vodafone UK seems to be gearing up for a BlackBerry Storm 2 announcement this week, or so claim the folks of The Guardian. Also dubbed Storm 9520, the device might be available for free with over £30 tarrifs ($47.40), with either an 18 months or 24 months contract.
Also, it seems plausible that Vodafone UK wants to counter O2′s Palm Pre offer, by offering the BlackBerry Storm 2 for free, with a contract. The smartphone features a 3.2 megapixel camera with support for video recording, a light sensor, a touchscreen display (360 x 480 pixels) and you’ll also find GSM quad band connectivity on its specs, CDMA dual band and UMTS (European/Asian 3G).
Storm 2′s specs list also includes a microSDHC card slot, BlackBerry OS 5.0, predictive text input, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a 3.5mm audio jack.
