Telefonica, one of the world’s largest mobile carriers has recently announced that is has begun testing its LTE network internationally, in countries like Germany, UK or Brazil. Six partners were selected for this trial, including operators from the Czech Republic (where Telefonica works as O2), Argentina and Spain.
In Argentina Telefonica is known as Movistar, while in Brazil, the carrier goes as Vivo. The trials are done thanks to a partnership with Nokia Siemens Network, Ericsson, Huawei, Alcatel-Lucent and NEC, all major equipment providers.
Expect the tests to start in the following months, with a maximum data transfer speed estimated at up to 340 Mbps.
