It seems AT&T has a real problem with MMS for iPhones as some subscribers reported the fact that this service is fully nonfunctional. AT&T have admitted via their customer care line that there might be a delay with MMS in all the country and the restoration time is still unknown.

AT&T announced earlier this month that MMS will be available for both iPhone 3G and 3GS starting the 25th of September. They have not launched MMS for iPhones earlier in order to have time to prepare their network infrastructure for the enormous MMS traffic predicted.

AT&T got sued for misleading customers by mentioning that iPhone will be MMS capable through the iPhone 3.0 firmware upgrade, but that didn’t happen.

The truth is that the AT&T’s network is not ready yet for handling the traffic involved by this service. We hope that they will learn from their mistakes so these kind of situations will never appear in the future.

China Unicom will be shipping 5 million Apple devices no sooner than September this year. International Business Time revealed the details of the deal regarding this heavy supply of handsets.

We are talking about standard WCDMA iPhones, bought from Apple for 10 billion Yuan (1.463 billion dollars), resulting in a price of 2,000 Yuan ($292) per unit. China Unicom thinks of selling the 8GB device for 2,400 Yuan ($351) and the 16GB one for 4800 Yuan ($702) although they didn’t make a clear agreement with Apple in this sense.

Apparently iPhone 3GS won’t accompany the iPhone 3G on the Chinese market, since its 8GB version wasn’t announced yet. There are however rumors about a future release of iPhone 3GS 16GB units, but nothing is known for sure.

It seems that iPhones will be available for the Chinese in the Carrefour locations and in China Unicom’s retail outlets.

KTF, the second largest South Korean carrier will soon release the iPhone 3G. This fact was revealed by Kim Yeon-hak, KT Group’s CFO. He admitted that the famous handset is heading for Korea via KTF but he didn’t mention any release date.

The price remains a mystery as well but it’s expected to be close to the one charged in the US, $200 or $300 with contract, depending on the device’s memory (16 or 32 GB).

We remind you some of the phone’s features: quad band UMTS/HSDPA and GSM/EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, three-inch diagonal multi-touch display, 2 megapixels camera, audio player and others.

KTF could lose its unique iPhone seller status as SK Telecom, the country’s largest carrier is negotiating with Apple a possible deal for the iPhone.

The source of this report is none else than Mobile Entertainment, who apparently have seen the documents proving the fact.

It seems that O2 can legally sell iPhones for 5 years, being the unique retailer for just 2 years. This can only mean one thing, that the strongly-iPhone-linked carriers Orange and T-Mobile will have the permission to sell iPhone 3G units, O2 still having the exclusivity for iPhone 3GS and hoping for future handsets’ exclusivity as well.

It’s an interesting thing that the iPhone has an unique seller in just three countries (US,UK and Germany) from a total of 80 countries in which the phone is being sold. This is why this change, applied in the UK won’t shatter the market.

We’re waiting to see the iPhone’s prices, as it readies for Orange and T-Mobile, of course, if they actually get to sell this product.

If you want to be part of the elite holding one of this unlocked devices you must purchase a £75 or more contract and know one of the T-Mobile UK’s dealers who has the guts to make this deal.

It is worth to be mentioned that T-Mobile is smart enough to make this operation perfectly legal by importing the handset from Germany, where they have the exclusivity for this phone.

T-Mobile UK keeps a low profile with these transactions by selling no more than 150 units weekly in order not to attract Apple’s attention.

China Unicom can now prepare the launch of iPhone 3G as SRRC ( State Radio Regulatory Commission – the Chinese equivalent for FCC) approved it. The table beneath from the SRRC’s website proves this.

We can clearly see the model’s internal number A1324, the handset’s GSM / WCDMA capabilities, the manufacturer “Apple Inc” and the approval date of May 7th, 2009. It must be said that the certificate is available for 5 years.

The cell phone has Bluetooth support but unfortunately no Wi-Fi, like Nokia 5800i. Also notice that the device comes with 16GB of internal memory, as you can see etched on the back.
