Sprint has been having a busy week, with the Virgin Mobile USA buyout and all, so it almost made us forget that they’re the ones selling Palm Pre, a smartphone that you should always keep an eye on. It’s strange that we haven’t heard any official sales figures for this potential “iPhone Killer”, but rumour has it that Sprint is moving about 25,000 Pre units a week.
The info comes from Pali Capital analyst Walter Piecyk, who also claims that sales have stabilized at the above-mentioned number. Initially, Sprint managed to sell about 50,000 units per week, when the hype surrounding Pre was still high, followed by a decrease towards 30,000 units and now 25,000.
Take this figures with a grain of salt, since neither Palm nor Sprint have confirmed them just yet. If I would be Palm, I’d start thinking about changing those horrible Pre commercials and use some celebrities to promote my hot product.
