The news of the day comes from the US and no, it’s not Best Buy selling Palm Pre for the wrong price, but rather Sprint’s latest acquisition, Virgin Mobile. It all went down for $483 million and the former MVNO prepaid carriers has reached a definitive agreement with Pre’s exclusive seller.
Turns out that Sprint will be pairing this acquisition with the Boost Mobile brand, a former competitor of Virgin Mobile. Aside from the obvious network and infrastructure changes/upgrades, this also means that MVNO is heading for the dump, but hey, we’ve got Sprint’s shoulder to cry on, right?
