Sprint has just announced that it’ll start selling the CDMA version of HTC Hero from October 11. Turns out that this handset will sport a different design from the European one, lacking the world famous chin.
The smartphone will retail for $179.99 (without taxes), with a 2 year contract and after a $100 mail in rebate, plus $50 instant savings. HTC Hero supports EV-DO Rev. A connectivity and packs a 3.2 inch capacitive touchscreen display with a 320 x 480 pixels resolution, plus an accelerometer, light sensor, GPS, digital compass and a 5 megapixel camera.
Home screen widgets are also included, together with HTC Footprints, Stereo Bluetooth 2.0, a 3.5mm headset jack, a microSD card slot with a 2GB card included and a 1,500 mAh battery. Hero will surely be popular among Sprint’s customers, specially now that they feel the need for a Palm Pre replacement.
