Rogers just upgraded the Canadian network with 21 Mbps HSPA+, the announcement being made today. The lucky Canadian cities that will benefit of this upgrade are no other than the 5 largest cities in the country, also the most profitable. We are talking about Calgary, Montreal, Vancouver, Ottawa and Toronto.
Currently no Rogers cellphone is able to reach that speed, so the only way to take advantage of this offer is by purchasing the newly introduced 21Mbps HSPA+ Mobile Internet Rocket Stick. You can pre-order this for $79.99 with contract. The Rogers customers are currently used with the present Rocket Stick not involving any cost on contract but this is the latest technology we’re talking about.
The HSPA+ network update comes also with a backend capacity growth that will allow more users (even the current 3G clients) to take advantage of data traffic without reaching the maximum limit.
