KTF is South Korea’s second largest carrier and the company has just announced its intention to launch a mobile service relying on WiBro, the localized and improved version of WiMax.
The carrier will launch the new service in November 2009 and we found out that it’ll allow the users to make cheaper voice calls. WiBro is only used for broadband connections on laptops for now, but it’ll move on to the mobile segment starting this Fall.
This move will surely stir up the competition between local South Koraen carriers KTF, LG Telecom and SK Telecom.
