China Mobile or China Unicom might be getting ready to launch Dell’s long awaited handset and it seems each carrier has its chance. Although it seemed at first that Dell’s Phone was using Android, it was proven later that Windows Mobile will be the true OS choice.
The picture above strengthens the Windows Mobile theory as we can observe the screen ratio, 1:1:66 (WVGA) specific to Windows Mobile devices. If Android was indeed the correct OS, the display resolution would have been 320×480, with a screen ratio of 1:1:5.
It’s rumored that the initial prototypes were not approved by major carriers as they thought that Dell’s Phone is not at the height of their expectations. It seems that the initial plan was creating two versions of the device, one using Windows Mobile and one using Android, so we might be seeing both of them on the market.
We expect Dell Phone’s design to be similar with the one of iPhone, being a genuine touchscreen device with no physical keyboard, very rich in memory and connectivity options.
