T-Mobile and Rogers will both launch BlackBerry 970, aka BlackBerry Onyx 0 in the following weeks. Rogers prepares to launch this product on 26th of October and some rumors place the price at about $300 with a 3-year contract.

T-Mobile USA rushes to make an example out of the Canadian carrier and plans to release the same product on the 11th of October. Of course this is a just a speculation, this rumor being emitted by sources of the BGR. There is still no information about the pricing.

The handset supports quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity, plus UMTS/HSDPA, it packs a 480 x 360 resolution display, Wi-Fi a, b, g connectivity, a QWERTY keyboard and a 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera.

Rogers in partnership with RIM has finally launched a new BlackBerry device called Curve 8520. The handset is available in any Rogers location for $99.99 with a 3-year contract of at least $ 45 per month.

The specifications are pretty unimpressive as this smartphone packs a 3.5mm headset jack, a 2 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi with UMA and a 320×240 display plus a full QWERTY keyboard. 256MB of RAM memory are also on board and the tasks are performed by a 512 MHz processor.

The device comes only in the classical black colour but there are hopes for a new violet shade.

Rogers seems to have finally decided on a price and launch date for BlackBerry Curve 8520, that’ll seemingly reach the market on October 9th, for $100. Best Buy gave people a clue regarding the launch and also about the non-contract price, $499.99 (yes $200 more than the same device on T-Mobile).

One should also remember that you can get the phone for $99.99 on contract, but meanwhile, the Pearl Flip 8220 will go for as low as $9.99. Something’s fishy? We thought so! Specs-wise, this BlackBerry Curve model comes with a TFT 2.64 inch display, a full QWERTY keyboard, a touch-sensitive optical trackpad, a 3.5mm audio jack and 256MB of internal memory.

The features list also includes Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, a 2 megapixel camera, a 512 MHz processor, email, IM and a microSD card slot.

Rogers is seemingly preparing an imminent launch of a new member of the Blackberry range, called Curve 8520. There had been some information leaks that sustain this theory: inventory shots emerged followed by some other images and the rumor about the employee training for the launch event.

These days some other pictures appeared and strengthened even more the assumption of an imminent release. The pictures above and below show some dummy phones in two color shades: the classical black livery and the new interesting lavender-purple hue. Rogers just upgraded the Canadian network with 21 Mbps HSPA+, the announcement being made today. The lucky Canadian cities that will benefit of this upgrade are no other than the 5 largest cities in the country, also the most profitable. Rogers Wireless has just released its new QWERTY candybar phone, known as Samsung Hype A256. The handset is the Canadian market version of AT&T’s Samsung Magnet, available in US since May. This device is perfectly suitable for messaging as it’s equipped with a full QWERTY keyboard.

The specs are pretty light, the device having quad-band GSM-EDGE capabilities (1900, 1800, 900, 850 MHz), MMS, a VGA camera and 16 MB of memory with the possibility of expanding it via MicroSD up to 16 GB. The handset’s weak point is the lack of 3G, but the battery capacity and the price still make it interesting.

We are talking about 5 hours of actual talk-time, plus 12,5 days of standby without a recharge. The device costs a mere $89.99 outright and it’s available only with the Pay As You Go option, online or through Rogers’ retail locations.

Rogers was rumoured to start offering a brand new 8GB iPhone 3GS and it seems that the info we’ve learned last week has turned into reality today, as the carrier almost confirmed it. Rogers Wireless lists the 8GB version of new Apple handset, as you can see for yourself in the table below.

It’s important to mention that Apple and Rogers have not confirmed this version just yet, so we’re waiting for an official statement from one of these companies’ representatives. Rogers seem to be prepping an 8GB version of the iPhone 3GS, an offer that Canadians won’t refuse, specially if the price is right. The carrier must have thought that the $199 iPhone 3GS packing 16GB storage is too expensive, but we wonder what’ll happen with the cheap 3G units.
