AT&T lines up with the current carriers’ trend of launching feature phones, as Verizon did the same this morning. This market strategy could be profitable in third world countries and on developing markets, that can’t sell too many smartphones.
The cellphone above is an entry-level clamshell that will seemingly be released on the 4th of October. The specifications are characteristic to low end devices so you mustn’t expect very heavy features, but all these can be enough depending on what you’re looking for.
The handset is 3G capable and it packs email features plus a web browser, so if you want to surf the web at decent speeds you have what you need. The device also incorporates a 2 megapixel camera and dedicated multimedia buttons. This cellphone will came in 2 shades: gray or red and it will be sold by just $29.99 with a 2-year agreement, and that’s after a mail-in rebate.
