Verizon’s Motorola Calgary Pictured Live, Features MotoBlur UI

Verizon seems to be readying its second Android smartphone, Motorola Calgary, a handset we’ve found out about from last year. It’ll follow Motorola Droid, as the Big Red’s second Google OS phone and, just like Moto CLIQ, it’ll use the MOTOBLUR interface.

Calgary should pack a full QWERTY keyboard, 3 touch sensitive keys, a digital magnetometer, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, 3 megapixel camera, microSD card slot and support for Wi-Fi connectivity. Word has it that Motorola Calgary will be launched by Verizon this quarter, probably under a different name.

Price and official list of specs have yet to be confirmed or announced.

Verizon Droid Gets Cool Commercial, Available for Pre-order

Verizon Droid promises to be one of the hottest upcoming Android devices, specially if we take into account that it comes with a very bold advertising campaign. There’s even a TV ad mocking Apple iPhone’s features, behind the iDon’t idea, as you can see below:

You need to a flashplayer enabled browser to view this YouTube video

Too bad we have no info on Verizon Droid, although speculations claim that it may in fact be Motorola Sholes, or some other Moto phone. Drawing some conclusions from the clip above, we can say that the handset should pack a physical QWERTY keyboard, multitasking, a camera with night shot mode, customization via widgets and interchangeable battery.

Looking forward to a confirmation of the device and maybe a bunch more details…

KT Readies WiBro Samsung Phone SPH-M8400

KT is a South Korean mobile carrier, as you might already know, but the really interesting information here is that the operator will be launching a WiBro handset, Samsung SPH-M8400. This is the second handset with WiBro support that KT launches, after the M830/M8300 model.

Samsung_SPH-M8400

There’s even a term for the new phone, since Samsung SPH-M8400 sports WiBro, Wi-Fi and WCDMA, all of these gathered under the umbrella of the “3W” name. Such a type of connectivity insures full 3G and 4G support, but only in South Korea, since WiBro is available over there alone.

Motorola i410 also features push to talk functions, MMS, GPS and Bluetooth. Strangely enough, it turns out that Boost Mobile should have made this device official back in September, but somehow that didn’t happen. The mystery goes on and we’ve yet to find out if this is a ghost or a real phone.
